Hazel Ruth Bradley

August 5, 1942 — January 22, 2025

Ms. Hazel Ruth Bradley was born on August 5, 1947, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to the union of Issac Bradley and Clementine (Watson) Bradley. Hazel was the eldest of five siblings: Daniel Bradley, Evelyn Bradley, Juanita Fitzpatrick, and Inez Fitzpatrick. She was preceded in death by her parents, Issac and Clementine Bradley, as well as Lucious Bradley, Terrance Bradley, and Brian Bradley.

Hazel confessed her life to Christ at a young age and maintained a strong faith in the Lord.

She was educated in the Saint Louis Public School System and graduated from Soldan Senior High School. Hazel was highly intelligent and multi-talented, excelling in various fields such as data entry, secretarial work, bookkeeping, and housekeeping. Her passion for helping others led her to become a Certified Nurse Assistant.

Her six children—Clementine Ellis, Hazel Bradley, Patricia Bradley, Oscar Bradley, Marvin Bradley Taylor, and Sheila Taylor—remember their mother as a beautiful, sweet, kind, and giving woman. Though she wasn't perfect, she always did her best. Hazel experienced many hardships, including the loss of loved ones, homes, and friendships, but she never gave up. She was a woman of resilience who always found a way to bounce back. Through her struggles, she taught her children to be survivors.

Hazel also knew how to laugh, celebrate life, and have fun with her family and friends. We will truly miss you, Mother, and we are grateful to have had you in our lives. We will never forget your loud "Indian laugh" and your free spirit that lit up every room. You had a deep love for animals, especially cats and dogs, and a passion for music and television—your beautiful voice was a gift. Though you endured many losses, you also gained a large, loving family who cherished you unconditionally. Your work here on Earth is done; you have earned your wings. Now fly high, and we will meet you at the crossroads.

Juanita and Evelyn fondly remember going out dancing and having fun with their sister. Hazel deeply loved her nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Tyrone, and Tony.

Hazel leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her wonderful memories: her six children; grandchildren—Rodney, Devonte, Jasmine, Martinez, Mariah, Martez, Myia, Malasia, George, Gekyle, Brian, Shannon, Brianica, and Jayla; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other dear relatives and friends.
