Mr. Jasper Mearion Harrison, III departed this life Monday, February 13, 2023, at 12:56 PM at Siteman Cancer Center, St. Louis MO.
He was born July 7, 1946, in Berkley California to the union of the late Mary Alice Asberry Harrison and Jasper M. Harrison, Jr.
At an early age Jasper devoted his life to Christ.
He attended and graduated in 1964 from Booker T. Washington High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He enlisted in the United States Navy in August 1966 and was honorably discharged April 1970.
Jasper continued his education, attending Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating in 1975. He received his bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma Central State University in Oklahoma City, OK. He was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 31 ½ years until he retired in 2004.
Jasper and Yvonne met 34 years ago and knew then, they were special to each other. They were joined in holy matrimony on January 22, 1999.
Jasper fully enjoyed hanging out with his friends at the Southside YMCA, golfing, fishing, and in addition he loved spending time with his family camping (glamping) and traveling. Jasper was an avid Western and Wheel of Fortune watcher, a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and loved smooth jazz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Gwendolyn Marie Harrison, brothers, Dewey Leo Smith and Richard Douglas Harrison, and grandson Jay E. Ortiz Jr.
Our beloved Jasper leaves to cherish his memory- His faithful and loving wife of 23 years, Yvonne Harrison, a daughter Erayna “Raynie” Harrison of Oklahoma City, OK, a son Jasper “Rocky” Harrison IV (Luz) of Oklahoma City, OK, and bonus son Carl Marr, III (Gwyneth) of Phoenix, AZ; four beautiful granddaughters, Desiree, Maariah, Jasmine and Olivia; brother, Robert E. Harrison, of Oklahoma City, OK, and sister, Mary E. Roundtree of Paris, TX; God-daughter Carla Turner of Cleveland Ohio and a host of other relatives and friends.
