Kameron Harris

February 3, 1996 — November 3, 2024

Kameron Nathanell Harris was born on February 3, 1996, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Cherco Keith Harris and Bridget Villaya Royal. From childhood into adulthood, Kameron remained a happy, respectful, and kindhearted individual. His big smile and contagious laughter brought warmth and comfort to his family and friends.

Kameron was a proud graduate of the Rockwood School District, where he attended Kehrs Mill and Westridge Elementary. He later attended Crestview Middle School and Lafayette Sr. High, following in his mother’s footsteps. Due to a change in residence, he graduated from Marquette Sr. High School in 2015. Kameron then pursued further education at Ranken Technical College in the Toyota Automotive Maintenance Technology Apprenticeship Program.

At the age of eleven, Kameron accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at Transformation Christian Church and World Outreach Center at eighteen. His faith shaped his character, and he was passionate about unity and inclusion. Kameron actively encouraged his friends to attend teen ministry meetings at church. During his middle school years, he played a key role in promoting student and parent participation in Crestview Parent Organization meetings, even helping his mother and staff facilitate meetings at Cote Brilliante Church.

Kameron was a dedicated athlete who played football from sixth grade through his senior year. Despite being diagnosed with exercise-induced asthma and suffering a minor concussion in eighth grade, he persevered, committed to staying strong and continuing to play.

His independent spirit was evident from a young age. At fifteen, Kameron dressed in a suit and tie to land his first job at Six Flags. He was determined to succeed, never missing a day of work, despite long commutes by car and bus. His dedication earned him recognition as a Six Flags Service Superstar.

Kameron had a selfless and giving nature. He carried the burdens of those he loved, always finding ways to support his siblings, cousins, and friends—whether emotionally, physically, or financially. He believed in second chances and always put the needs of others before his own.

From childhood, Kameron had a creative mind. He made toys out of paperclips, rubber bands, and coins, and later expressed himself through music, drawing, and graffiti art—often using the garage as his canvas. He recently developed a passion for creating lyrical and musical content and enjoyed attending the Renaissance Fair, where he embraced a new community of friends.

Kameron cherished family time, enjoying game nights and playing video games as a way to decompress. He found comfort in rewatching his favorite movies, especially The Fast and the Furious box set, often paired with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

The most joyous time in Kameron’s life was the birth of his son, Chandler. Being a father was his greatest dream. When he met his partner, Alyssa Barr, who was expecting a child, he embraced the role of fatherhood, raising Selini as his own. Kameron proudly said, “I now have my Prince and my Princess. Once we have our twins, we’ll have a full house.”

Kameron is preceded in death by his father, Cherco Keith Harris Sr., and grandparents Villaya Royal, Merlin Williams, and Joseph & Rosie Hurn.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Bridget (Damon) Royal-Coleman; his godparents, Rena (Felix) Watson; his children, Chandler Edwards-Harris and Selini Barr; and his loving partner, Alyssa Barr. He is also survived by his siblings, Kameira Harris, Karnell Harris, Kristen (Reginald) Gregory-Newtall, Kaveyon Harris, and Cherco Harris Jr. Kameron’s legacy lives on through his nephews, Reginald Newtall III, Christian Newtall, and Kamori’yon Harris, as well as his nieces, K’amori Harris and K’amayah Harris. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Kameron was a bright light in the lives of those around him. Though his time on earth was far too short, his kindness, resilience, and love for his family will live on forever.

Take your rest, Kam. Your love and light will never fade.
