Paul Cortez Lee was born on May 8, 1952, to Jessie and Arthur Palmer in Hughes, Arkansas. The family later moved to Saint Louis, Missouri, where Paul received his education in the Saint Louis Public School system.
In 1968, Paul met Thelma Lee, and together they had three children: Jacqueline Lee-Ellis, Paul Cortez Lee, and Tara Lakiesha Lee.
Paul worked for Allen Cab Company as a driver for many years and later for Ronnoco Coffee Company until his retirement. Paul was full of life, always telling jokes and spreading joy. He had a big heart and was always eager to help. He was the life of the party and a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He was always on the go and energetic, and even in his 70s, he could work circles around people in their 30s.
Paul loved his children as well as his nieces and nephews. He was very caring and just wanted to be loved.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Jessie Palmer; his sisters Laveen, Dorothy, and Elizabeth Palmer; and his brothers Earnest Shinaul, Robert, Arthur, Charles, Jean, Rickey, and Wesley Palmer.
He leaves cherished memories with his three surviving sisters: Mary Johnson, Juanita Carter, and Atha Hearn (Chris Hearn, brother-in-law); his three children: Jacqueline Lee-Ellis (Myrie Donnell Ellis, son-in-law), Paul Cortez Lee, and Tara Lakiesha Lee; his grandchildren: Joshline, Vincent, Joshua, Jordan, Jewel, Jada, Macus, and Davione Lee; his great-grandchildren: Tamyren Lee, William, Elijah, and Malachi Jackson; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
