Life's Story of Mr. Stanley C. Pickett, Sr.

Stanley C. Pickett, Sr. was born on January 18,1958 n Sant Louis, Missouri to the union of Clavin Pickett and Florence Pickett, both preceded him in death. Stan was baptized under the Catholic faith as an infant, and later accepted Christ under the Baptist faith. Stan was a devoted . and faithful member of Star Bethel Full Gospel Church, serving on the Food Pantry Ministry and always available to assist when needed.

Stan was educated in the Saint Louis Public School System, graduating from Soldan High School. He also attended Forest Park College and Vatterott College.

Stan was married to Kim R. Barry, to this union two children were born, Denise Shante' and Stanley Calvin, Jr. Stan was a father figure to Aaron L. Rumbles, who also preceded him in death.

On September 20, 1997, Stan was united in Holy matrimony to Joyce Underwood. Stan was a father figure and role model to Frederick A. Hope, Sr.

Stan's employment career started at Edison Brother, Ins.  where he held several positions. He later gained employment at Lacede Gas Company, now known as Spires. At Spire, he held several positions and retired as a Leak Truck Foreman.

Stan's love for cars developed at a young age and included many things: such as drag racing, model cards, slot cars and also being a member O UBDRA (unite Black Drag Racers Association). Stan served in various capacities and also played a part in "Black Sunday He loved people and enjoyed socializing, he was a founding member of the 3_N)1 Social Club and Truckers social group. Stan served as a Scout Leader with the Boy scouts of Greater Saint Louis. Stan had a love for fishing, grilling, coin collection and music. Anyone who knew Stan is aware of his favorite songstress, Anita Baker.

Stan loved and especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He was a father figure and role model to many. All of his nieces, nephews called him their "Favorite uncle" He was a trusted and genuine friend to many, and his charismatic smile would light up a room. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help or lend a ear.

Stan departed this life on Wednesday November 23, 2022

Stan is survived by his wife, Joyce Pickett; his children, Denice S. Pickett of Saint Louis, Missouri, Stanley C. Pickett, Jr. (Johnna) Pickett of Taos NM. and Frederick A. Hope Sr. of Saint Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Brian, Jr. Brenden, Marcus, Marley, Frederick, Jr. Chase, Roberrt. and Kimella; great-grand daughter Bryne Mae; siblings, Angela T. Mannings, (Willie) and Maria F. Walker  (Bill-Rip). devoted aunt, Arzella J. Abernathy; longtime friend and confidant, Charles H. White (Chuck); a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and a countless number of friends throughout the years who will miss him dearly.
